(Wild) Fires in Greece (& Unprecedented Heatwaves/Record-Setting Temperatures in Western Canada & Norway/Scandinavia (& the UK)) - Floods in China and India and Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg (& Even Godzone) - Earthquakes (and */**a Cyclone for Good Measure) Once Again in Haiti - Pestilence & ***Plague (c/o Droughts/Famines Aplenty & the Coronavirus Etcetera) - People Offended Left, Right & Centre - Kingdoms Falling, 9/11 & the Rise of Numerous (Especially Islamo-Fascist) Medieval-Style Death-Cults (Such as Sissii Internationale, Les Kebabs & Hocus Bedlam): Hey, It's Just Ye Standard, Par for the Course, Run-of-the-Mill 'SAME AS' (Ever), 'Nothin' New Under the Sun', Scenario, Folks, Nothing At All Unusual to See Here; Or, As Our (i.e. Dunedin, Aotearoa-New Zealand's) Former, Much-Esteemed (& Now Deceased) Political Studies Professor Emeritus, James Flynn (at the University of Otago) Responded Following the Ominous Tsunami (Upon Terrific Earthquake) in Japan in March 2011, Itself Coming Hard on the Heels of Our (2009/2010) Christchurch Earthquake/s (A 'Little While' After the Indian Ocean/Indonesian Earthquake/Tsunami): "No, It's NOT (An Indication of) the End of the World." Hey, as Ye 'Ole Kiwi Billboard Waxes So Eloquently: Yeah, Right!
*Though Japan & Taiwan, I believe, have suffered rather devastating cyclones ('typhoons') also of late...
**And since writing this, Louisiana - and the 'entire shebang' of the United States, N.B. right upon the exact (16th) anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, (itself around 13 years after Hurricane Andrew, which Yours Truly was a fly-on-the-wall observer of) - has now experienced the 'equal worst' (including all three for argument's sake) such cyclone in its (if not necessarily America's) entire (European settlement) history...
***Even here in our own little abode we experienced something previously utterly unheard of - much less seen/witnessed and actually experienced - firsthand: a biblical-style plague/infestation of large blue bottle house flies...and believe me or not, that particular Sunday (around three weeks ago) I vacuumed up/****squashed with a tissue up to around 70-80 such vermin...
****Thankfully upon neither count offering up more than the barest modicum of resistance, lethargy well and truly seeming to have taken possession of these critters presumably only starting to thaw out of their annual winter's hibernation...
